“Butter Knife” is a track about Spike from My Little Pony. Specifically, it’s about intense feelings of loneliness emerging within him as he’s stuck living a life where he’s constantly surrounded by tight-knit friendships and group hugs, but is almost never included, or seen as an equal, in any part of it.
